What is ISO/IEC 17025?

ISO/IEC 17025 was first issued in 1999 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is the single most important standard for calibration and testing laboratories around the world. Laboratories that are accredited to this international standard have demonstrated that they are technically competent and able to produce precise and accurate test and/or calibration data.

Annual surveillance visits are also conducted to ensure the laboratory is still meeting the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Why is lab accreditation important?

Accreditation of labs improves facilitation of accurate and rapid diagnostics, efficiency of treatment and reduction of errors in the laboratory process. Accreditation is not about who the best is, but who has a system of standard procedures with aim to improve the quality and patient safety.

How to Obtain NABL Accreditation?

BMQR conducts gap analysis and advice the lab to close.BMQR also conducts various trainings such as awareness ,Internal auditor,MU.

The client is then asked to complete PT/ILC ,Calibration and MU calculation.

Once all implementation work is completed BMQR helps the Lab to register their details in NABL portal.After the successful audit,the lab will receive NABL accreditation .The accreditation is valid for two years.
